Will my policy include any excesses?
You can select a voluntary Buildings and/or Contents excess of between £0 - £500 (under Direct Line Home Insurance) or between £0 - £500 (under Direct Line Home Insurance Plus). Please check your quote for our current default excess.
The higher the voluntary excess you select, the lower your annual premium will be. The optional Accidental Damage cover under Buildings and/or Contents is subject to a compulsory £25 excess in addition to the level of voluntary excess selected (this applies to Direct Line Home Insurance only).
The Personal Possessions section carries a minimum compulsory excess of £50 or your voluntary excess, whichever is higher. Claims under the Pedal Cycles section attract a standard excess of £15 (under Direct Line Home Insurance only). Subsidence claims are subject to an excess of £1000, unless a higher amount is stated in your policy schedule. .
