What would be an example of a Home Emergency?
To help understand what we mean by Home emergency, we have put together the following definition: An emergency is an incident in the home which if not dealt with quickly will: (a) make the home unsafe or insecure for its occupants; or (b) cause damage to the home and its contents; or (c) leave the home without its primary source of heating, lighting or water. So, examples of a Home emergency would be things such as: Your boiler breaking down and you having no heating or hot water (therefore, leaving the home without its primary source of heating, lighting or water); waking up in the middle of the night to find that a leak is coming through your bedroom ceiling (therefore, causing damage to the home and its contents); or being unable to lock your door on your way out to work (making the home unsafe or insecure) etc.
