What is not covered by my Pet Insurance policy?

Certain things are not covered. These include any claims for any illness or disease that happens during the first 14 days of the policy or any condition that is present before the start date of the policy. The policy does not cover any preventative, non essential or routine treatment or tests such as flea treatment, neutering and vaccination, behavioural problems, pregnancy, food and dental treatment, unless due to accidental external injury. These types of things are not covered as they are either expected costs of pet ownership, and can usually be prevented by good pet care or would be used by only a few policyholders to the detriment of all, as higher premiums would result. There is also no cover for any claim that results from an incident covered by other insurance, such as but not limited to, Third Party Liability. Please refer to the Policy Wording for full details of what is and isn't covered.
